Monograph of Dr. rer. nat. Andreas Heinrich Malczan

Preface of the author to the second edition

The first edition of this work appeared only in 11 copies, numbered from zero to 10. The copy with the number zero remained with the author as a specimen copy and has since been decorated with numerous corrections, changes and annotations.

Copies 1 to 10 were sent to the recipients listed at the end. As expected, the response was extremely modest. Maybe it was the obvious incompleteness, because the author could not explain the complete functioning of the Cerebellum in the first edition.

Noticing this gap himself, further study of the matter led to new insights that came from the subconscious and required revision. This has now been done. The author hopes to be able to explain the functioning of the Cerebellum in a credible way to the readers. Even though its functioning is inseparably interwoven with the signal processing of the cortex, the basal ganglia and the hippocampus.
The aim was to derive a theory of neural circuitry of the brain. Here it must be said that only half the way has been taken. The brain is also capable of binary and analogue operation. Part 3 and Part 4 of the monograph are reserved for these areas. However, these are still in progress.

The author is a self-taught neurologist and does this research in his spare time. Professionally he works as a system administrator and software developer in the free economy, so he has little free time for his hobby. Therefore only half of the planned work is finished. So may the readers first have a look at chapters 1 and 2.
At this point we would like to thank Professor Günther Palm, who received a personal copy of the first edition and not only read it, but also initiated and realized an exchange of ideas. Although this does not determine whether the work presented is close to reality, this interest was very motivating and must be explicitly acknowledged here.

The author wishes all readers much pleasure in this work. May our curiosity remain with us all, as well as the imagination to ask questions and above all the intuition to find answers. Whether the answers given in this monograph are close to reality may be decided by others.

Der Autor wird Hinweise und Kritiken wohlwollend aufnehmen und in seiner weiteren Arbeit berücksichtigen.

The author is still looking for a publisher who will take the design, printing and distribution of this work into their own hands. The freedom of research in this country is a high but perishable good. It is already a clear indication of scientific decline if one cannot find a publisher willing to print a scientific monograph when even the author is willing to bear the printing costs. May this change in the future. Freedom is also always the freedom of those who think differently. This saying applies not only in politics but also in science.
